Getting to Alicante, Spain is very convenient and easier than other Spanish cities because of its location and proximity to major transportation routes. Even though it is not one of the larger and more visited of the countries coastal towns, Alicante does provide a beautiful stay for those who decide to travel there. A vast majority of travelers get to Alicante via the rails or using the cross country bus service, but if you have your own vehicle driving is even more convenient.

Alicante has a small municipal airport, in addition to the larger airports in Madrid and Barcelona. The smaller airport is just a few miles from the city center and getting to Alicante, Spain from there is possible in a quick cab ride or bus trip. If you are flying into the bigger airports and then have the desire to visit this beautiful city on the sea, you will need to book a three hour train ride or you can use the national highway which is just as convenient and fast.

In addition to the airports, the improved railways and bus services in Spain and Western Europe are a convenient and economical way to travel. Alicante is on many of the main routes, so stops are frequent and convenient. The national highways also pass through Alicante on the north to south stretch that hugs the coast, as well as routes that move inward towards Madrid, Barcelona and Seville. With each of these transportation options, there is an easy and fast way for tourists to make the necessary travel arrangements. If you are trying to book a beach resort destination, Alicante is a great choice because of the many connections to the rest of Spain.
